SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
Most companies see diversity and inclusion separate from social responsibility and manage them as such. At Golden Piedmont, we see them as deeply intertwined. Both are fundamentally about reaching out to both disenfranchised individuals and communities. Taken together, we can help create a business that embraces broader economic benefits and more social inclusion for all.
Social Responsibility.
In simple terms “social responsibility” means caring about other people, and the community. At Golden Piedmont, we incorporate this uncomplicated notion to every part of our business. Social responsibility is at the heart of every business decision. Many rural communities have not shared equally in the economic progress that the rest of America has enjoyed. This fact has visibly harmed families living in rural areas and has created regions of poverty that need to be reversed. Golden Piedmont Labs was founded on the social objective of contributing to the revitalization of rural economies. This starts with our brand, workplace, farmers, and our employees.
Diversity and Inclusion.
We believe that fostering a diverse workplace where employees feel included and welcomed is a not only good business, but also the “right thing to do.”
At Golden Piedmont we prohibit harassment because of race, color, sex (to include pregnancy, childbirth, and all related medical conditions), gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, military or veteran status, marital status, or any basis prohibited by federal, state, or local law. Achieving an inclusive workplace takes commitment and a focus on recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce, creating awareness of diversity issues, and fostering a supportive, positive environment where differences are respected and everyone is treated with fairness and respect. To that end Golden Piedmont Labs is committed to following principles:
To create a workplace where human rights, equity and privacy laws are respected.
To establish and maintain a diverse and inclusive workplace.
To create a process to obtain our employees feedback on D&I initiatives.
To create a process which will allow our employees to safely report instances of workplace harassment or discrimination.
To train our managers to understand the individualized needs of our workforce.
